Legislation (A. 6252 and S. 2741) that would mandate on January 1, 2010 bullet serialization, the process by which each individual round of ammunition is identified and marked with a laser engraved serial number, has been referred to the New York Assembly Codes Committee. There is also a third bullet serialization bill pending in the Codes Committee (A. 3200) which includes similar mandates.
